SUPPLY TEACHERS' UPDATE
Bob Cross writes …
At the most recent meeting of the JCC it was agreed with County that they
would go back to the original way that the hourly rate for supply teachers
should be calculated. This means that if a supply teacher is employed on an
hourly basis their rate of pay will be 1/5th of the daily rate. This should
be equivalent to 1/975th of the FTE. This means it is exactly as it was
before the proposed change and confusion.
Of course teachers working for the day could be expected to work up to 6.5
hours a day, they will be paid 1/195th of the FTE. All supply teachers need
to check their salary slips very carefully in the future.
All Supply teachers on the West Sussex database have been informed of this by letter.
